After a series of catastrophic misunderstandings and impulsively poor decision-making, Scarlett MacGregor finds herself once again torn between two loves, as different as they may be. Lacking proper closure with their relationship, accompanied by the overwhelming guilt for her role in his devastating downfall, Scarlett resolves to help Mason recover and reclaim his life as a budding rock star. However, now that he has finally claimed her as his, Ash Walker is bound and determined to keep her by his side, and he will go to any lengths necessary to do just that.

Mason Templeton has hit rock bottom. He’s in love with a girl whose heart and soul belong to another and he’s partied his way off of an international music tour that was supposed to be his big break. Returning home for rehab sounds like the worst possible way to start a new year, but when an unexpected friendship emerges, he begins to realize that maybe everything does happen for a reason.

Euphoria is the third and final installment of Scarlett, Ash, and Mason’s self-discovering journeys to happiness and understanding the meaning of true love ~ the kind that begs for complete surrender.

I attempted to slip my panties on while the towel was still covering me, but I clumsily fell over my own feet, and the towel ended up on the floor as did I, flat on my butt. I looked up at Ash on the bed, who was trying desperately not to laugh, and then down at myself, sprawled out naked on the floor except my panties that were half on.

“Are you sure you want to take this hot mess somewhere across the country with you?” I asked him, half joking.

“As John Legend says babe, I ‘love your curves and all your edges, all your perfect imperfections,’” he answered sincerely. If I hadn’t already been on the floor, I think I may have melted into a puddle on it.

“Awww that’s one of the sweetest things you’ve ever said to me. You totally just gave me butterflies,” I told him honestly as I stood up and finished pulling my panties up. I walked over to the bed and leaned down to give him a quick kiss. He groaned loudly as I pulled my away from his. “What?” I asked.

“You,” he growled as he grabbed a hold of my hips and pulled me up on the bed and into his lap. “You’re the hottest little thing I’ve ever laid my eyes on, and you’re prancing around here without clothes on, knowing damn well what you’re doing to me.” He brought his mouth back to mine, this time giving me a much more sensual kiss.

“I’m not prancing,” I mumbled against his mouth. “I’m more like flopping around.”

“Well your flopping is extremely sexy, in case you didn’t know,” he said as he began peppering kisses up and down my neck.

“Don’t think I’m not aware of what you’re trying to do, Mr. Walker,” I attempted to say with a stern voice, but it came out more in a breathy whisper. He was turning me into putty in his hands and completely erasing the reason I was upset to begin with. “We are supposed to be talking about something important… I think.”

“Yes, this is very important,” he murmured against my sensitive skin as his head moved lower on my chest and drew a nipple into his mouth. That was all it took for me, I was a goner and all was forgiven. It was decided ~ we were moving to California.  ~ Scarlett

 My Review:

She unknowingly gave me strength through her presence, and despite her flaws, she was still so much better than I could ever be.

How is it possible, now THREE days later, to still be this emotional about a book? I am simultaneously heartbroken as well as overjoyed with the conclusion to one of my favorite series. From the beginning, Erin had me hooked on Scarlett, Ash, and Mason. I was right beside her as she discovered who she was, as she navigated the rocky waters of both Ashe and Mason, trying and failing to fight the undeniable connection with BOTH men. I was there with her when Evie passed. And whew, let me tell you. Was that ever a painful moment. A moment that still resonates within me now three books in. That is an event that you don’t simply ever get past; you just learn to live with the dull ache in your heart. In reaction to this event, I was beside Scarlett when she broke Mason, broke Ash, and in turn, broke us.

Scarlett eventually comes back to town, and much to my delight and surprise, returns to Mason. Let me just say, though I love Ash and definitely see the attraction, I was ALWAYS a Mason girl, from the first moment we met him. Maybe it was his rough exterior that was all a front for a man who just wanted to be loved. Maybe it was his familiar name, the same from Charlotte’s Web. But really, if I think about it, it was this and so much more. Everything about Mason drew me towards him, as if he were a magnet. The instant chemistry between him and Scarlett was undeniable. And while I agree that she also had an unbelievable connection with Ash, for me, it couldn’t hold a candle to what she had with Mason. I felt as if Ash already had a plan and knew where his life was headed. Scarlett and Mason were able to grow together and figure out the future together, without expectations and without standards to live up towards.

Shit hits the fan. It’s hard to explain so you’ll just have to read yourself. In a nutshell, it basically all boils down to miscommunication and insecurities, between ALL parties. This eventually leads to Mason OD’ing on Christmas Eve, and that brings us to the present.

“I love you, butterfly…your curves and all your edges, and all your perfect imperfections.”

“You’re my end and my beginning; even when I lose, I’m winning.”

Full warning: unlike the rest of my review above, I will no longer be giving away any plot points. I despise book report reviews as I feel it is important for each person to take their own journey with the story; to interpret it on their own. Believe me when I say there WILL be strong opinions on this final book. There is no right or wrong answer; only the reality. As with life, everything can’t always be black and white, and you can’t make everyone happy. And while it isn’t a traditional happily ever after, I whole-heartedly believe that it was THE perfect outcome for their journey.

The growth in ALL of the characters was the perfect culmination of the buildup, tension, angst, and love that these three had already gone through. Walls were finally broken down, insecurities squashed, and true selves were found. No matter the romantic outcome, I knew all three would be okay; together or alone. I didn’t know until the very end who Scarlett would end up with. While my love for Mason was ALWAYS prominent, I won’t lie and say that Ash didn’t also hold a part of my heart. The problem was that Mason held a larger part. The growth especially in him quite literally brought me to tears more than once.

Even as I was sitting here putting together my post, assembling the playlist, and going over what I had highlighted, I started to tear up again. Why is that you ask? Well, you’ll just have to read to find out. Again, I know that everyone won’t be happy. When you have a love triangle though, everyone CAN’T be happy. Someone is going to be left out in the cold. The only thing you can hope for is that the author is talented enough to make you okay with that. And you know what? As much as it hurt, and believe me, my heart felt as if it was ripped from my chest, I 100% believe it was necessary and the ONLY possible outcome. You could try to come at it from many other angles, but if you logically used your heart and head, you would come to the same conclusion; it had to happen the way it did. Without that, I don’t believe any of them would have ever finished their journeys.

I realized that loving yourself is vital because only then do you realize that you deserve the love of another.

Don’t let the fact that I am Team Mason sway you to believe he is the one she ends up with. I’m mature enough to be happy with the outcome even if my favorite guy wasn’t chosen. Scarlett truly comes full circle in this book. With help from others, but mainly her, she realizes her dreams, or is at least on the path to achieving them. She is independently wonderful, and the change from the beginning of book one to the end of book three is astounding. I am a HUGE fan of epilogues and Erin did my heart proud on this one. Even as the story ends there are still many things left up in the air. But with just few short pages, she clears everything up for us, and I fell in love all over again. Their love story was just gorgeous, between Scarlett and Ash, between Scarlett and Mason; it was all deliciously beautiful.  Never in another book series has an author broken and put me back together so many times. Erin is a literary story telling master and has some bad-ass crazy glue! Though Scarlett, Ash, and Mason’s story ends here, I eagerly await to see what she comes out with next. I’ll be first in line!

I just finished the last of 3 books… I am still sad about it all. I loved all the books, and I still have to read the Novella but I don’t know if I should take a break from Scarlett and the pain or just jump right on in. Its very rare that I have to put the book down and walk away. That happened in the Ash surfing / Scarlett Vegas chapter. I literally felt my heart break and I had to walk away. I feel like I am still going through all the stages of grief… right now Im pretty angry lol. What a great series this was and as much as you expect (or in my case have gotten use to) a happily-ever-after from books, this series was anything but. Im going to miss these characters.

Is there a place where the entire series playlist is listed?
