My Review
I’ll be honest; when I started this series a few months back I had no clue what I was getting into. I’ve read many mafia related series before but it’s always hit or miss on just how authentic they will be. And for me, I need my mafia series to be dark and dirty and to leave nothing in the gray area. Well color me surprised when I discovered this author and this series was exactly what I had hoped for and so much more! It was a side to the mafia I had long hoped to read about but had never quite reached. And the best part is that even after five books, there are still many more coming in the future. I love when an author builds an excellent foundation that keeps you coming back for more. Not to mention I’m a huge re-reader so I got to experience my favorite characters all over again before starting this book.
Our two stars in this story aren’t in the previous books much at all. I can remember one scene that Inessa is in and maybe one or more that Dom is. I’m going to say straight up that I did NOT like Dom for most of this book. Yes there were points where I got where he was coming from, but he was still a pompous ass hat and so overbearing. I loved how independent and self sufficient Inessa was and the more he broke that from her character, the more furious I became. Don’t get me wrong; when they worked, when all the walls broke down, I absolutely adored them together. Their connection was palpable and the sexual chemistry clouded the sunniest of rooms. The steamy scenes were off the chart! But I just got so mad at his obvious hypocrisy and wanted to smack him multiple times throughout the story. He was just so heavy handed that at times I struggled to connect with him.
But like I stated earlier; I didn’t hate him the entire time. When they worked, it overshadowed any bad that came before it. I love when characters truly connect and heal each other and these two had that in spades. There was an undeniable connection and Faiman brought that out on the pages beautifully. This series will always remain one of my top favorite mafia ones and I cannot wait to revisit these characters again in future installments. Eagerly awaiting!

About Hayley Faiman
As an only child, Hayley Faiman had to entertain herself somehow. She started writing stories at the age of six and never really stopped.
Born in California, she met her now husband at the age of sixteen and married him at the age of twenty in 2004. After all of these years together, he’s still the love of her life.
Hayley’s husband joined the military and they lived in Oregon,where he was stationed with the US Coast Guard. They moved back to California in 2006, where they had two little boys. Recently, the four of them moved out to the Hill Country of Texas, where they adopted a new family member, a chocolate lab named Optimus Prime.
Most of Hayley’s days are spent taking care of her two boys, going to the baseball fields for practice, or helping them with homework. Her evenings are spent with her husband and her nights—those are spent creating alpha book boyfriends.
